New York City Metropolitan area · Alternatives / Fintech · USD 160,000 – 240,000

We are partnering with a leading financial services and investment technology organization seeking a Vice President or Senior Vice President of Pricing Strategy to take ownership of a highly visible commercial strategy function.

This individual will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional business partners to shape how the organization approaches pricing, evaluates strategic opportunities, and drives profitable growth across its client base and product portfolio.

The role combines pricing strategy, strategic finance, commercial analytics, and business strategy, with significant exposure to executive leadership. The successful candidate will help establish scalable pricing methodologies, assess the economics of new and existing business opportunities, evaluate competitive and market dynamics, and translate complex financial analysis into clear commercial recommendations.

This is an opportunity to have meaningful influence over enterprise-wide decision-making while building the infrastructure, governance, and analytical capabilities supporting a sophisticated and growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization's senior-level pricing governance process, coordinating meeting agendas, analytical materials, recommendations, approvals, and follow-through on key decisions.

  • Advise executive leadership on pricing strategy, client economics, commercial structures, and broader growth opportunities.

  • Partner with Business Development, Sales, Relationship Management, Distribution, Product, and Finance teams to evaluate and structure new client opportunities and strategic commercial arrangements.

  • Build and develop a high-performing pricing strategy capability responsible for supporting complex client requests, opportunity analysis, and commercial decision-making.

  • Create and continuously refine pricing frameworks across products, client segments, channels, and markets.

  • Develop approaches to value-based pricing, product positioning, fee structures, and competitive differentiation.

  • Maintain standardized pricing guidelines and reference materials to support consistency while allowing for thoughtful commercial flexibility.

  • Establish a centralized record of historical pricing decisions, precedents, exceptions, and supporting rationale.

  • Develop and maintain pricing policies, governance procedures, approval standards, and internal controls.

  • Create executive-level reporting and analytics covering pricing trends, realized fees, margins, revenue mix, commercial performance, and other key indicators.

  • Conduct competitive and industry analysis to identify changes in market pricing, fee pressure, customer expectations, and emerging commercial models.

  • Work closely with Strategic Finance and FP&A partners to assess revenue potential, cost-to-serve, profitability, return on investment, and long-term economics of commercial opportunities.

  • Translate analytical findings into concise recommendations, presentations, and decision materials for senior executives and internal committees.

  • Partner with Legal, Product, Sales, and other stakeholders to develop clear client-facing materials explaining pricing structures, methodologies, and commercial terms.

  • Help establish scalable operating processes that can support continued organizational growth and increasing complexity.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 9- 15 years of professional experience in areas such as pricing strategy, management consulting, strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, commercial strategy, or another highly analytical business function.

  • Experience developing or evaluating pricing models, commercial strategies, revenue optimization initiatives, business cases, or profitability frameworks.

  • Prior experience within financial services, fintech, asset management, investment management, wealth management, or another complex B2B financial environment is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, business case development, and data-driven decision support.

  • Demonstrated ability to distill large amounts of financial and commercial information into clear recommendations for senior executives.

  • Strong executive presence and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions and levels of an organization.

  • Commercial mindset with an understanding of how to balance revenue opportunity, client needs, competitive positioning, margin, and long-term enterprise value.

  • Experience partnering across functions such as Finance, Sales, Product, Operations, Legal, Strategy, and senior management.

  • Track record of developing processes, governance structures, decision frameworks, and scalable operating models.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive presentations, committee materials, policies, and commercially oriented communications.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.

  • People management and team-building experience is preferred.

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required; familiarity with business intelligence, financial planning, or pricing analytics platforms is a plus.
